STATEMENT:
This past year, I was able to complete work relating to several facets of my professional and personal interests. A scholarly article I co-authored about the lessons and legacy of John Johnson and Ebony magazine was published in a book of magazine studies. I was able to report on a contentious meeting of Chicago journalists, share what I had learned about teaching Solutions Journalism online, provide consumers and realtors useful information about choosing to go solar, and reflect on how my husband and I made difficult decisions about recreating outside early in the pandemic. Together, that pretty much sums up 2020, a year of professional productivity in the context of personal angst!
